France’s leading ESP joins the Board as an Observer to help in the fight to keep consumer inboxes safe

June 28, 2012

PARIS – Emailvision, the international leader in SaaS for online relationship marketing, today announced that the company has become an observer on the board of Signal Spam, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the Inbox and email’s future as a safe and effective communications channel to help fight spam and related cybercrime threats such as scams, frauds, fishing attempts and “botnet zombification”.

As an observer of this board, Emailvision will see to the best interests of legitimate email senders, for whom the ability to deliver email safely is a business-critical issue. For Signal Spam, Emailvision’s participation adds a more global perspective, which is necessary to expand the organization’s influence to a more international audience. Emailvision joins current contributors including the French public authorities and law enforcement agencies, as well as the country’s largest ISPs Orange and SFR.

"We are incredibly proud to be an observer on the board of Signal Spam, an organization whose importance we have long recognized,” stated Andrew BONAR, Director of Deliverability for Emailvision. “This relationship is an important step in our company’s commitment to keeping our platform safe from malicious behavior, and we look forward to helping Signal Spam pursue their unique, comprehensive anti-spam approach on a more global scale.”

“Getting major senders to play an important role in the development of Signal Spam is an integral part of our mission. It is excellent to see Emailvision stepping up in Signal Spam, and becoming an observer on our Board, especially at a time when our charter of engagement enters into force,” commented Jean-Christophe LE TOQUIN, President of Signal Spam. “We look forward to collaborating with Emailvision to make the email environments safer and more responsible”.

Signal Spam develops a unique range of spam reporting plug-ins for third party browsers and email clients for French-speaking communities globally. Emailvision will be working with Signal Spam and its board to translate these assets to enable browsers and clients to benefits from these plug-ins internationally.

About Signal Spam

Created in 2005, the Signal Spam Association is a spam alert platform that brings together all members of the e-mail ecosystem (companies and operators, professional associations and public bodies) to combat spam and related cybercrime threats such as scams, frauds, fishing attempts and “botnet zombification.” Free and accessible to everyone, the initiative places the Internet user at the center of the fight: spam emails submitted by users are sent on to the players involved, both public and private, to enable them to take better measures to prevent future malicious messages from being sent.
